Shanghai / Chengdu. On August 25, Porsche brought an incredible range of cars to the 20th Chengdu Motor Show (CDMS), demonstrating the brand's unique manufacturing philosophy of "a sports car on the racetrack and a race car for the road". The new 911 GT3, unveiled for the first time in China, combines the pleasure of both daily driving and racing. With true race car performance and a systematic lightweight construction, it brings an unparalleled driving experience to the consumers. This high performance sports car is now available for order in the Chinese market with MSRP price at 2,028,000 RMB. Another attractive model on display was the Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo. With a new body design, 4+1 seating arrangement and spacious interiors, the Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo provides more diverse options for consumers favouring the luxury Panamera series. In addition, the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series and the prestigious mid-engine sports cars – the 718 Cayman were also showcased, perfectly highlighting Porsche's relentless pursuit of ultimate performance, design and driving fun.

"The racing gene is deeply rooted in Porsche’s DNA and is fully reflected in all our models. This is why more and more fans love Porsche." Mr. Franz Jung, President and CEO of Porsche China, said, "I'm pleased to see that the Porsche Club China has almost 800 members in just 4 months since this April. In the future, we will bring in more Porsche models with enhanced sports car potential to consolidate the Chinese owners' growing enthusiasm for sports."

Porsche's dedication to racing is attributed to its dream of building sports cars of the future. For nearly 70 years, racing technology has been the key to the remarkable performance of Porsche sports cars. Without doubt, the new 911 GT3 is the best proof of Porsche's application of racing technology to sports cars on the road. It has been built in the same facility as the new 911 GT3 Cup cars, created by the same team and tested on the same track. Intelligent lightweight construction, redesigned chassis with rear-axle steering and an aerodynamic package ensure motorsport-like performance and an unfiltered driving experience. However, what makes the new 911 GT3 truly powerful is the extremely high-revving naturally aspirated 4-litre engine. It produces 500 horsepower and is virtually unchanged from the 911 GT3 Cup racing car. With 7-speed PDK as standard, the new 911 GT3 accelerates from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in just 3.4 seconds, and its top speed is 318 km/h.

The interior of the car is more than impressive with a strong motorsport feel. The GT sports steering wheel with a 360-millimetre diameter originates from the 918 Spyder. The Sports Seats Plus with extended side bolsters and mechanical adjustment provide a luxurious and incredible driving experience for both the driver as well as the passenger. The headrests flaunt the stitched GT3 logo in platinum grey, adding to the unique appeal of the car. Driving dynamics have been further enhanced in the new 911 GT3 resulting in a sports car that's incredible to drive.

Porsche always brings unique masterpieces, which have been perfected through countless innovations, to its consumers. The new Panamera, launched in 2016, perfectly combines the performance of a sports car with the comfort of a luxury car in an unprecedented and unique manner. With its 4+1 seating arrangement, a large tailgate and increased luggage compartment volume, this model is for long-distance trips and the joy of sharing Porsche’s incredible driving experience with friends and family. It also extends the product line of the new Porsche Panamera to 13 variants in China, providing multi-scenario usage and catering to diverse tastes.

In addition, Porsche showcased its 10-year CSR history in China for the first time at the show. Since its first donation to the children affected by the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, Porsche China has long been committed to the growth and education of children in remote areas of China. For example, Porsche China supported the UNICEF Integrated Early Childhood Development (IECD) programme, dedicated to promoting the early-stage development of 0-3-year-old children in remote and poor areas. During the period, Porsche China donated more than RMB 23 million and four Porsche Cayenne, benefitting about 4,000 0-3-year-old children across 80 administrative villages in Shanxi Province and Guizhou Province. Porsche “Empowering the Future” CSR programme is also focussed on the growth of young artistic talents, and supports the development of promising young artists. The "Young Chinese Artist of the Year" programme is a new platform launched by Porsche based on its 7 years of experience in youth art education. The programme aims to tap and support new young artists with innovative and experimental spirit in China, and will continue to provide fresh perspectives and experiments for the current changes and future development of Chinese contemporary art.

Porsche has always fulfilled its commitment to the Chinese market with cutting-edge sports cars while exceeding expectations through providing the most satisfying and exciting customer experience in line with its future-oriented sustainable development strategy. Mr. Franz Jung further stressed, "China is one of Porsche's most important markets. We are well aware that customer enthusiasm for the brand is the cornerstone of our success. We work hand in hand with our 98 dedicated dealers to professionalize all touch points with customers and help drive dealers’ sustainable development. "
