Shanghai/Shenzhen. From 16 to 24 June, Porsche presented its full model line-up at the 2023 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show. The show featured the China public debut of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, a highly anticipated moment for this born-to-race machine. Long established as a desirable high-performance sports car for enthusiasts, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is available for purchase in limited numbers exclusively from Porsche Motor-sport Asia Pacific and for track use only. With its high-revving, naturally aspirated engine, short-ratio drivetrain, powerful downforce, light weight, and extreme aerody-namics, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS represents the pinnacle of race car technology, offering an irresistible, purer driving experience. Another sports car to look out for at the show is the new Cayenne, one of the most extensive product upgrades in the history of Porsche, more luxuri-ous, better performance and offering a more comprehensive digital experience. Just in time for the 75th anniversary for Porsche sports cars, the stand also brought a Taycan boasting a spe-cial 75th anniversary livery, bringing colourful dreams to life through its historic Porsche livery.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS pure racing DNA for pure driving passion
As a pure racing machine, the 911 GT3 RS has completed the 20.8 km Nürburgring Nordschleife of the Nürburgring in 6:49.328 minutes, underlining its uncompromising design for maximum performance. With its 386 kW (525 PS) naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine, the 911 GT3 RS features the same lightweight power unit as can be found in the Por-sche 911 GT3 Cup race car. As an ultimate sports car boasting the "RS" suffix, the 911 GT3 RS serves as a perfect expression of lightweight design, coming in at just 1,450 kilograms. Even beyond the high-revving, naturally aspirated engine with racing DNA and intelligent lightweight construction, it is, above all, the cooling and aerodynamic systems of the 911 GT3 RS that connect it directly with its motorsport heritage. At 285 km/h, the total downforce is 860 kg, more than twice as much as its 991.2-generation predecessor.
The lightweight construction has also been significantly improved, including the extensive use of CFRP for the rear wing with active aerodynamics and the wheel deflectors with optimum ventilation design. In addition to this, the doors, front wings and roof are made from CFRP. And of course, the GT3 RS aluminium lightweight forged wheels and more all bring significant advantages to the track. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS comes with the Porsche drag reduction system (DRS), which is derived from racing technology. Together with Porsche Active Aero-dynamics (PAA), the rear wing and the two sets of active fins hidden in the front bumper are automatically adjusted by the vehicle's lateral and longitudinal acceleration, the position of the accelerator and brake, and other vehicle data in a very short time to achieve optimum aerody-namics.
The 911 GT3 RS available to customers in the Chinese mainland is exclusively for racetrack use. A limited number of these track-only cars are available for customers to purchase exclu-sively from Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific. The 911 GT3 RS is eligible for the Porsche Sports Cup China, Porsche GT Trackday, and the Porsche Track Experience and Driving Ex-perience at the Porsche Experience Centre Shanghai. Furthermore, the car can be used for private or public track days, bonded exhibitions as well as for private collections. In terms of the purchasing process, an interested customer needs to have a company registered in the Shanghai Jiading Comprehensive Bonded Zone (SJCBZ), then sign a contract between his or her company and PMAP, so as to purchase the 911 GT3 RS in RMB. From the fourth quarter of 2023, PMAP will deliver the car in SJCBZ to its customers, who will be able to store the car in a SJCBZ warehouse when not in use.
The new Cayenne, more luxurious, better performance and a more comprehensive digi-tal experience
As a pioneer defining the large sporty SUV segment for Porsche, the Cayenne has been con-sistently enhanced since its launch. The new Cayenne has been fundamentally overhauled, based on the series’ third generation, and is now ready for order. With a more driver-focused cockpit design, new chassis technology, innovative lighting technology, and more powerful engine range, the Cayenne emphasises its claim to being the sportiest car in its segment. The new Cayenne debuts with five variants, which cover two body types of SUV and Coupé, as well as three engine versions including Cayenne, Cayenne E-Hybrid, and Cayenne Turbo GT. Alongside the stronger sporty performance, the practicability and the sense of luxury also go one step further in the new Cayenne. The newly introduced Porsche Driver Experience not only creates an even more intensive driving experience, but also brings a more pleasant ride to passengers: the standard air quality system filters pollutants from the air in the interior, and the optional passenger display, available for the first time in the Cayenne, provides enjoyable experiences like in-car video during the trip without disturbing the driver. The standard equip-ment of the Cayenne has been significantly expanded to include Matrix LED Headlights, 20-inch wheels, front and rear Park Assist including a reversing camera, and a smartphone tray with inductive charging at up to 15 watts.
