Passionate car lover Liv went from car posters on her bedroom wall to a successful career as an automotive content creator. She tells us her story – and how driving a Porsche makes her feel
Swiss content creator, photographer and automotive journalist Livia – known as Liv – loves to surround herself with inspiration. As a child it was car posters and magazines, but we joined her on a road trip where her imagination was stimulated by Austria’s memorable lakes and mountains and winding Alpine roads. Oh, and a very special and exceedingly quick Porsche. After loading up a Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package with her camera equipment, Liv jumps in the driver’s seat and takes us on a journey into her world.Liv, you’re a passionate car journalist and photographer, specialising in Porsche and classic cars. How did you start and what inspired you to set up your Instagram account?“I’ve been spotting cars all my life, taking pictures of those that I see on my way to work or school. My camera roll on my iPhone was always full of cars and I’m constantly hunting for the special ones – especially Porsche. And then, with Instagram, I found a platform where I could share these images and my passion for automotive.“When I started my account about two years ago, it never was my intention to become an ‘influencer’ or a journalist at all. I just did it for fun. I bought a new car at the time and also my first camera to take pictures of it and post them. My account picked up and turned in to something much bigger than I ever imagined.”

Livia’s Instagram account, @withliv, has grown rapidly in the two years that she’s been running it. It’s where all her passions collide – cars, creativity, design and Switzerland’s mountains Photo: Porsche
Do you remember when you were first bitten by the car bug? “I was around 10 or 11. I started by trying to memorise the cars, and the badges on their bonnets, that I’d see on my way home from school. Then I moved on to learning the different models. One of the most memorable moments from my childhood was seeing a convertible for the first time. I didn’t even know those existed until then!”

For Liv, one of her favourite things is meeting other car enthusiasts, hearing their stories and connecting over a shared passion Photo: Porsche
What inspires and drives you in your career?“I’ve always been a hands-on person who loves creating things. With my Instagram account, I get to combine this passion with my interests in creativity and cars. I think that’s what fuels me and drives me to tell engaging stories.“I actually have a design background and worked in a design studio after I left the School of Arts where I studied, where I did everything from websites to graphic design and interior design. So, aesthetics, design and technology are really close to my heart. Seeing these elements come together beautifully is what really inspires me. That’s why I love Porsche so much – it perfectly balances all these three elements.“Last but not least, meeting other passionate people is something I always look forward to on my weekends. What I’m doing is about more than just the cars – it’s about being part of a diverse community. I’m just as curious about the people behind the cars as I am about the cars themselves.”

Although Liv doesn’t yet own a Porsche, she’s highly involved in the Porsche community and has driven several Porsche cars – from the classics to the latest models Photo: Porsche
What made you fall in love with Porsche?“It’s the classic story – like most kids, I had a poster on my wall. Mine was a 911 GT3 RS in Lizard Green with the Weissach package and its carbon fibre bonnet. I’ve always loved green, and it was so cool to see such a bold, sporty car that you could race but was also at home on the road. It was such a statement car.“Whenever I went on holiday with my family, I was allowed to choose a magazine for the road – and I always chose car ones. Porsche was everywhere in those magazines, so it wasn’t hard to fall in love.”

Liv usually prefers discreet car colours, but was instantly drawn to the vibrant Purple Sky Metallic shade of the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package. “It stood out against the landscape and grabbed everyone’s attention,” she says Photo: Porsche
You recently went on a road trip in the new Taycan Turbo GT. How was it? “Working with Porsche has been a dream come true. It all started with a simple message in my inbox. I was so excited the night before the trip that I couldn’t sleep! The whole project was very hush-hush, so I knew it was going to be something special, but I didn’t know what until I signed the contract.“When I found out I’d be shooting the new all-electric Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package, I was ecstatic! And getting to drive it was an absolutely incredible experience. Throughout my journey as content creator, I’ve driven a lot of Porsche cars, from classics to newer models but, for me, the Taycan Turbo GT took it to a whole new level. It was thrilling to drive – like being in a jet. The instant speed and power when I accelerated gave me goosebumps, especially watching the arrow on the speedometer climb.“The colour was amazing too – that Purple Sky Metallic really ‘popped’ when I took pictures of it, which is perfect for any photographer. The rear wing of the Weissach Package model makes the car look truly special. It helps add to its dynamic silhouette, making it the perfect car to capture on camera.”

The Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package is the most powerful all-electric Porsche production car ever built (as of May 2024). For Liv, the thrill of photographing it was matched by driving it on winding mountain roads in Austria Photo: Porsche
Where did you drive the Taycan Turbo GT? “I do a lot of road trips myself and I love being in the mountains, driving on twisty roads and exploring nature. This collaboration with Porsche, through the mountains and lakes of Austria, was a perfect blend of all my passions – creativity, nature and cars.“We drove the Taycan Turbo GT around the stunning Salzburg area of Austria, including iconic lakes like Fuschlsee and Wolfgangsee. It was an incredibly beautiful drive.”When you’re not driving or on car shoots, what do you get up to?“Besides cars I enjoy playing football or watching sports. And I love to dance to good music or spend time with my friends and family. But still I try and attend a car gathering most weekends – anything from community meets to exhibitions and car shows. Porsche events are always my all-time favourites because they’re about so much more than just the cars. It’s also about the community – it really feels like an extended family. Even though I don’t own a Porsche yet, I feel very much a part of the community.”
