Motorsport has always meant something very special to Porsche, going right back to the formation of the company. Each year, its racecar drivers – whether pro, semi-pro or amateur – race teams and racecars fly the flag for Porsche.And this was certainly no exception in 2024 in what turned out to be a landmark year for Porsche Motorsport. There were a total of five major titles secured for Porsche Motorsport across its Formula E and endurance racing operations. Download poster HEREThe 2024 FIA Formula E World Drivers’ Championship started off perfectly for Pascal Wehrlein – and ended the same way too. Starting his fourth season with the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team, the German driver secured pole position and then gained a lights out to chequered flag victory in the opening race in Mexico City. Consistency and strong qualifying performances were key as Pascal took two more race wins during the season. One of these included a P1 in the first of two races at the season finale in London. A P2 in the second race of the weekend in the UK capital meant that Pascal confirmed his FIA Formula E World Drivers’ Championship title. Such was the dominance of Porsche in the manufacturer’s championship, it just needed one of its Porsche 963 racecars to start the ten-hour race at the final weekend at Road Atlanta to gain the title. Download poster HEREPorsche took the overall winners’ garlands in another legendary endurance racing championship when co-drivers Germany’s André Lotterer, France’s Kévin Estre and Belgium’s Laurens Vanthoor won the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) for Porsche Penske Motorsport.The trio drove their Porsche 963 to two wins out of the eight races, with five podiums secured too. It was a first WEC title, in just its second year of competition, for the 963.
