From racing drivers to collectors, enthusiasts to artists, Porsche proves time and again that when it comes to the pure joy of driving, there is no substitute. Here’s why…
To own, drive or simply just admire a Porsche is to be part of something that goes beyond engineering, beyond performance, beyond heritage. It’s a feeling. A feeling that connects us, inspires us and keeps us coming back for more.  It’s about the ignition on the left-hand side of the steering wheel, the gleaming crest on the bonnet and a heart that races that bit faster with every green light. It’s the next corner. And the one after that. It’s the design of the 356 and every iconic Porsche that followed. The distant echo of a childhood dream. The thrill of opening the garage – and knowing what comes next.  It’s the kind of passion that turns owners into drivers, drivers into collectors, and collectors into lifelong enthusiasts. It’s a promise Porsche makes to those who challenge the status quo, who see the original and turn it into an icon, who strive for perfection, embrace individuality and yet inspires a passionate global community. That’s why, when it comes to Porsche, there is no substitute. But don’t just take our word for it. Read on to find out what fans from around the world have to say about that spine-tingling feeling you get from driving a Porsche.  Mark Webber on Porsche: the thrill never fades Few people know about power and performance better than Mark Webber. The former Formula 1 driver, 2015 FIA World Endurance Champion (in a Porsche 919 Hybrid) and Porsche ambassador has spent his career at the wheel of some of the fastest cars in the world. But, Mark readily admits, when it comes to driving on the road, Porsche is the brand that was the one that truly got a hold on him.

“Formula 1 drivers aren’t easy to please,” Mark admits. “Definitely not when it comes to road cars. My first Porsche – my daily, if you like – was a 997 Turbo S. That was the first car I had real affection for. Once I got that bug with that car, there was no turning back.” For Mark, Porsche is about emotion. It’s about the feeling that first started for him as a kid staring at a poster of a Porsche 959 on his bedroom wall. It’s one that continues to burn strongly today. “There’s still a little kid inside of me now,” he says. “Because no matter how many cars you’ve driven, no matter how many podiums you’ve stood on, there’s simply no substitute for the Porsche you love.” Orlando Bloom on Porsche: a lifelong passion  Drive around Hollywood and you’ll never be far from exotic cars. But, for actor Orlando Bloom, Porsche is the only one that ever felt real.

“I did a Porsche GT3 Track Day in Prague, and it was the first time I’d driven a Porsche on a track,” he says. “We had the chance to try all kinds of Porsche sportscars. There was the Taycan, the Cayenne, the whole fleet was there. And of course, the GT3 cars.” Each model delivered a unique experience, but one in particular stood out for Orlando. “The handling of the Taycan surprised me,” Orlando admits. “There’s an expression where I come from that says it corners on rails – like a train. It sticks to the road so you can really push it. That’s why I love Porsche so much, because of that kind of handling. I love driving at speed because it makes me super focused. Like I’m in a simulation.” But for Orlando, Porsche is not just about performance. It’s about the passion and philosophy behind the brand that makes it so special to the actor. “I think this is something that comes from the top all the way down,” he explains. “When you think about Porsche – the design, the integrity, the authenticity, the creativity – it’s just solid. It’s a feeling. And that feeling is an expression of the joy of driving and the joy of being part of the Porsche family. For me, it’s like nothing else.” It’s a connection Orlando knows will last a lifetime. “I couldn’t be happier to be working with the Porsche family,” he says. “I want to be doing this forever. Literally, I think I’m going to get old and say: ‘Wheel me up but put me in the car.’ I’ll be driving these cars for the rest of my life because it’s a feeling I’d never want to miss out on.”

The Porsche community dives into that unforgettable feeling There’s something about Porsche that goes beyond ownership. A feeling that lingers long after you switch off the engine. For the global Porsche community, it’s this emotional connection that keeps the passion alive. For James Walker – aka British automotive YouTuber Mr JWW – that connection is forged out on the open road. “When I was growing up I was really into Formula One, and that was my introduction to fast cars,” he says. “Every now and then my dad would take me to a Formula One race… the sound would affect me physically. For me that was an early injection of excitement for cars.” “Eventually, it led to me being invited to the Crown Prince of Bahrain’s private track day. And this was when I first experienced driving a Porsche 911 GT3. Someone gave me the keys to a first-generation 991 GT3 and basically said go and lap your heart out. It was unbelievable.” He was hooked. “I ended up falling in love with it and the whole naturally-aspirated, high-revving, flat six thing – it became an obsession.” Today, he daily drives a second-generation 991 GT3, which has racked up over 80,000 km (50,000 miles), but despite all that asphalt covered, the thrill never fades. “It feels like a friend because I know it so well.” That thrill resonates just as strongly on the other side of the world, where Kate Reid – a former F1 aerodynamicist turned world-renowned pâtissier – has felt that same Porsche spark for as long as she can remember. “My dad used to restore vintage Porsche vehicles, so I grew up surrounded by the cars. It’s a brand that’s always been close to my heart.” Today, she runs Lune Croissanterie and drives a Porsche 911 of her own. But it was on a road trip from Melbourne to Brisbane in an all-electric Taycan 4S Cross Turismo she nicknamed Steve that the feeling truly hit her. “I don’t think people buy a Porsche just to get from A to B,” says Kate. “You buy one because you love the experience of driving it. I jump into my 911 and I get the greatest rush. And I felt that same rush when I was driving the Taycan.” But the journey wasn’t just about the destination – it was also about sharing the road with Kate’s best friend, Bianca. Driving towards the Pacific Ocean, they reached Byron Bay, where Bianca grew up. “Iridescent afternoon light, one of Australia’s most beautiful beaches, my best friend and ‘Steve’, on the road trip of a lifetime? It doesn’t get much better than that.” The experience was even more vivid for Bianca, who had never driven a Porsche before. “The first time she took over the driving, she looked at me and got a bit emotional,” adds Kate. It’s in these moments – a stretch of pristine beach, a shared silence, the open road – that the Porsche feeling really hits. That same feeling is what drives Swiss content creator, photographer and automotive journalist Liv to do what she does. She caught the car bug when she was 10 or 11 years old, she says, and has been spotting and photographing cars ever since. “I started by trying to memorise the cars and the badges on their bonnets that I’d see on my way home from school. My camera roll on my iPhone was always full of cars and I’m constantly hunting for the special ones – especially Porsche.” That childhood curiosity evolved into a passion for creativity, design and storytelling – something she says Porsche has always represented. “I’ve always been a hands-on person who loves creating things. So, aesthetics, design and technology are really close to my heart. Seeing these elements come together beautifully is what really inspires me. That’s why I love Porsche so much – it perfectly balances all these three elements.” This sense of awe only deepened during a recent road trip through the mountain roads of Austria in the new Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package – currently the most powerful Porsche in the model line-up. “I do a lot of road trips myself and I love being in the mountains, driving on twisty roads and exploring nature. This collaboration with Porsche, through the mountains and lakes of Austria, was a perfect blend of all my passions – creativity, nature and cars.”

The Porsche promise to you Over the decades, Porsche has evolved into a cultural icon, an attitude and – for many – a way of life. It’s become a car for the rebels and visionaries, purists and innovators, dreamers and doers. But, above all, it’s become a love poem to the huge Porsche community the world over. These are the people who’ve helped make Porsche what it is today and what it will continue to be for generations to come. Dear Porsche Community. This one’s for you.  Our promise. There is no substitute.
