The new Panamera GTS and Turbo S E-Hybrid have been launched, slotting in at the top of the model range. Find all about these sporty and luxurious models
The Porsche Panamera range has two new models now available. Slotting in at the top of the range that include the previously launched new Panamera models, the 2024 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and Panamera GTS offer customers further choice when it comes to experiencing the enticing combination of smooth driving comfort with all the benefits of Porsche sportscar technology in a four-seater luxury sedan. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful, fastest and most luxurious derivative and sits at the top of model series. It is also the new record holder in the official ranking of the fastest combustion engine cars and hybrid luxury sedans to have lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Meanwhile, the performance-focused tuning of the Panamera GTS offers a pure sportscar experience and supreme agility and the standout added design elements that have made the Porsche GTS models so popular among customers. The engines and gearbox in the new Porsche Panamera modelsBoth the Panamera GTS and Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid models feature the further developed 4.0-litre biturbo V8 petrol engine. In the case of the Panamera GTS, that means a dynamic chassis tuned for high performance while the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid combines the V8 engine with an electric motor for the kind of power and efficiency that such an exceptional hybrid powertrain gives you. It also incorporates, as standard, the Porsche Active Ride chassis; a special design for the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, it grants the luxury sport sedan a previously unattained balance between driving comfort and driving dynamics.Porsche has made a number of other technical developments to help improve the efficiency of the drive, especially in the high dynamic range, for both sportscars. These include improvements to the 8-speed Porsche dual clutch transmission (PDK) which has been fundamentally redesigned and can be seen, for example, in the enormous drive torque of the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.How fast are the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and Panamera GTS?The new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful Panamera ever. The V8 biturbo engine has an output of 599PS combined with an electric motor and newly developed PDK that adds up to another 190PS. When benchmarked against its predecessor, output has significantly increased by 102PS to an impressive 782PS. System torque has risen by 150Nm to 1,000Nm. This translates to a 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 325km/h (202mph). That’s 25km/h (16mph) more than the previous model. It is also 0.5 seconds quicker to the 0-100km/h (0-62mph) mark.Aided by its new highly tuned chassis, the Panamera GTS creates 500PS, which is 20PS more than its predecessor. It results in an even better driving performance and dynamics and greater efficiency than ever before. Its 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) time is now 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 302km/h (188mph). You can hear as well as feel that increased performance level too, courtesy of a new standard sports exhaust system.

What is the range of the 2024 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid?The hybrid powertrain of the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid offers greater electric range. Its high voltage battery stores 45 per cent more energy than the battery in its predecessor. It means that this most powerful of Panamera sportscars has an electric range of up to 88km (WLTP EAER City) or 55 miles. Recuperation output for the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid has improved greatly meaning that it drives more efficiently than ever when the car is in fully electric mode. When it comes to charging using a suitable power source, its 11kW on-board AC charger is able to charge the battery from zero to 100 per cent in around two hours and 39 minutes. How the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid broke a Nürburgring Nordschleife recordPorsche test driver Lars Kern is a man used to breaking records for Porsche at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife track. And, at the wheel of the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, he has now added another. In July 2024, just before the launch of the range-topping new Panamera, Lars drove the 20.832km-long lap in a time of just 7 minutes 24.172 seconds. That time set a new fastest lap for a top-class sedan with a combustion and hybrid engine at the German racetrack. The mark is 3.62 seconds quicker than any car in this class has achieved before.Lars broke Nordschleife class records in both 2016 and 2020 with the Panamera. The car that he set this new fastest time in was fitted with a racing seat and safety cage but was otherwise the same model that is now available to customers. These improved times are a vivid indication of the constant quest for improvement by Porsche engineers. The Panamera Turbo models now feature track tyres and a Carbon Aerokit As well as the chassis and powertrain improvements, one of the reasons for the record-breaking performance of the new Panamera is the new Carbon Aerokit and specially developed UHP tyres from Michelin that are fitted to the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid model. The Aerokit is now available for the sports sedan models of the previously launched Panamera Turbo and new Turbo S E-Hybrid. The Aerokit consists of airblades, side skirts and a rear diffuser made of carbon. These add up to significant aerodynamic improvements when driving this Porsche sportscar on the track, with a new front spoiler that completely eliminates lift on the front axle and a Gurney flap on the adaptive 4-way rear spoiler, which generates exceptional levels of downforce.Traction is further improved by the fitting of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres with an N0 marking – which means it’s the first Porsche approved version of a tyre design. With dimensions of 275/35 ZR 21 at the front and 325/30 ZR 21 at the rear, the tyres were specially developed for the Panamera for dynamic driving situations by Michelin, who have a long and storied relationship with Porsche. The Panamera GTS features exclusive design and equipment additionsThe GTS models feature across Porsche and have become synonymous with an added dash of sportiness, maximum driving pleasure and the kind of day-to-day sportscar usability for which the brand has become known. As well as its dynamic improvements, the new Panamera GTS (GTS stand for Gran Turismo Sport) features an exclusive SportDesign package and a sporty, high-quality interior. As with the GTS models across the Porsche range, the new Panamera GTS has a performance-focused look. The black GTS logos on the rear and sides are a distinctive feature. It’s joined by other design touches that are unmistakably GTS, such as dark-tinted HD matrix LED headlights and tail lights, red brake callipers and a front section that is unique to this head-turning model. There are also unique body trim elements, part of the GTS SportDesign package, such as Black accents on the exterior. These include side skirts, insets in the front area, side window trip and the rear bumper. The GTS comes as standard with 21-inch Panamera Turbo S wheels with central lock, exclusively for the GTS in Anthracite Grey.Inside there are generous Race-Tex surfaces in the interior that help accentuate the sporty GTS design language. These cover the roof lining, armrests, door panels and centre panels of the adaptive sports seats with their 18-way adjustment. The seats have black GTS lettering underneath the headrest. There’s also an optional GTS interior package in Carmine Red or Slate Grey Neo with stitching and seat belts in contrasting colour and illuminated door sill guards in carbon matt. A Bose® sound system comes as standard, as well as the Sport Chrono package with its standout stopwatch and push-to-pass function.
