All the details of the new all-electric Macan and Macan 4S
Two new models have joined the Macan electric family – the Macan and Macan 4S. Find out about these new all-electric Porsche cars
The new all-electric Porsche Macan range has now been extended to four models with the introduction of the Macan and Macan 4S. The two new cars join the Macan S and Macan Turbo models that have already been launched to create a formidable line-up for the all-electric Porsche SUV model series. The new all-electric Macan is a rear-wheel drive model and the lightest version of the Macan in the range, with an unloaded weight of 2,220kg (4894lbs). The new all-electric Macan 4S, meanwhile, weighs in at 2,345kg (5170lbs) and is positioned between the existing Macan 4 and Macan Turbo models. With its standard all-wheel drive and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damping system, the Macan 4S is particularly adept in off-road situations. The launch of the new Macan and Macan 4S also sees the introduction of a new off-road design package, which will be available on all four Macan electric models. Both new models profit from the sportscar-like performance, coupé-like Porsche exterior design, high-quality interior and cutting-edge Porsche Driver Experience infotainment technology that were revealed with the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo variants. How fast are the new all-electric Macan models? Both the Macan and Macan 4S benefit from powerful acceleration that electric cars have over combustion engines. With its particularly sporty seating position, impressive driving dynamics and steering precision, the new Macan delivers a pure sportscar feeling to the driver.
Consumption and emission informationMacan 4 Electric
(WLTP): Electric energy consumption combined: 21.1 – 17.9 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km; CO₂ class: A.
Macan 4S Electric
(WLTP): Electric energy consumption combined: 20.7 – 17.7 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km; CO₂ class: A.
How fast is the new Macan and Macan 4S?For the Macan, 360PS of overboost power is available with Launch Control. It means that it can accelerate to the 100km/h (0-62mph) mark from standstill in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 220km/h (137mph). In comparison, the Macan 4S – combined with the front-axle motor also seen in the Macan 4 and Turbo – produces 448PS and, with overboost, up to 516PS. Using Launch Control, it can achieve 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 240km/h (149mph).What are the ranges of the new all-electric Macan and Macan 4S?Being rear-wheel drive, the Macan is 110kg lighter than the Macan 4 and therefore requires less electricity for propulsion, which translates to a combined WLTP range of up to 641km. The all-wheel drive Macan 4S has a combined WLTP range of up to 606km.Enhanced dynamics in the new all-electric Macan and Macan 4SThe Macan 4S comes equipped with Adaptive Air Suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damping control as standard. Combined with the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and rear-axle steering options, it allows the chassis to be further optimised for high-level performance and increased comfort. The rear-wheel drive Macan, meanwhile, is equipped with air suspension and PASM as standard. This too can be ordered with the optional rear-axle steering, which not only benefits handling on the road but also greatly enhances the car’s capabilities when parking. How quickly can the new all-electric Macan models be charged? Both the Macan and Macan 4S use the 800-volt architecture of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) – this means a DC charging capacity of up to 270kW. In optimum conditions, and when connected to a DC fast-charging station, the high-voltage battery of these all-electric Macan models can be charged from 10-80 per cent in around 21 minutes. The new exterior colour and wheels for the all-electric Porsche MacanAlongside the launch of the new Macan and Macan 4S comes a new exterior colour – Slate Grey Neo – which is being made available to models across the all-electric Macan range.Introducing the new off-road design package for the all-electric Macan modelsBeing an all-electric model, all four of the Macan models have access to the kinds of instantaneous levels of torque and precise control that befit a high-performance SUV, especially when combined with its optional adaptive chassis. And that means good off-road capability. To further enhance that feeling comes a new optional off-road design package. Its highlights include a front bumper which increases the approach angle by up to 17.4 degrees depending on the model (with the air suspension at a specifically raised level). When combined with its adaptive air suspension, the off-road design package also raises the ground clearance by 10mm to 195mm at the normal setting. This doesn’t just aid the off-road performance of the new all-electric Macan, the increased slope angle can help you tackle steep and rougher roads or raised underground car park exits with ease. The new off-road design package also gives an adventurous look to the new Macan. As well as the front bumper, the package consists of side skirts, diffuser panels and roof railings. The package is available in Vesuvius Grey but can also be ordered to match the exterior colour of your new Macan. Customers of the Macan, Macan 4 and Macan 4S can separately order just the off-road front bumper with an inlay in Vesuvius Grey. As with the above, this increases the approach angle. A matching 21-inch off-road design wheel in Vesuvius Grey has also now been made available too.
