For most electric vehicle drivers, the majority of charging will take place at home. We offer a range of stylish and intelligent charging solutions, including the new Porsche Wallbox.

Away from home, we offer access to a growing number of charge points with the Porsche Charging Service. With the app or RFID card, you can easily access thousands of chargers across Europe, including the ultra-rapid network of our joint-venture partner IONITY, where Porsche Charging Service customers can charge at preferential rates. Selected Porsche Centres also offer ultra-rapid charging facilities for charging on the go.

The Porsche Destination Charging programme offers convenient charging at a range of carefully selected venues, including luxury hotels, spas and fine restaurants. Porsche drivers can enjoy complimentary charging as a guest of these venues.

Porsche Charging Service.

We ensure that your experience when charging away from home is hassle-free and flexible. Integrated into the My Porsche app, the Porsche Charging Service gives you access to a network of over 550,000 publically accessible charge points throughout Europe. Without having to register with multiple charge point operators, you can charge your car easily and conveniently when you are on the road. As a Taycan or Macan electric customer, not only will you receive subscription-free access to the Porsche Charging Service Plus for 3 years’, you can also enjoy discounted pricing (£0.39 p/kWh) at the IONITY ultra-rapid charging network, Porsche Centre DC chargers or Porsche Charging Lounges.

Charge on your travels as easily and conveniently as you would at home: with the Porsche Charging Service. Integrated in to the My Porsche app, the Porsche Charging Service gives you access to a European-wide network with over 550,000 charge points without having to register with multiple charge point operators. In addition to using the My Porsche app, when you activate the Charging Service in the Connect Store, you will also be sent a Taycan Charging Card which can be used for accessing charge points on the service. For even greater convenience, use the Plug and Charge function at selected charge points. Thanks to intelligent communication between the vehicle and the charge point, the charging will start automatically without the need for using the app or card.

Be optimally equipped on the road so you can charge your all-electric Porsche quickly and easily.

Compatibility of the charging plugs with your electric vehicle.

Your electric vehicle is fitted with two charging sockets. Various charging plugs are installed at the charging stations. In Europe, the type 2 charging plug has become the standard for AC charging stations. At DC fast charging stations, such as IONITY, CCS2 plugs are standard in Europe.

Type 2 connector

The Type 2 connector is found at most AC charge points. The majority of AC public charge points are untethered, so you will need to use the Mode 3 public charging cable included with the vehicle.

Combined Charging System (CCS)

The CCS connector is found at the majority of DC charge points in the UK and throughout Europe to support the rapid charging of electric vehicles. DC charge points are tethered so the CCS cable is always attached to the unit.

Which electrical sockets can I use to charge my Porsche?

You can charge your Porsche both at domestic and public charging outlets. In order to charge with the greatest possible efficiency and shortest duration, public charging units often have the fastest charging speeds. Using the Porsche Charging Service is the best way to find more information about the location and accessibility of suitable public charging points.

For the installation of charging hardware at your home, our recommended provider for home installation services, Andersen EV, can support you through this process if you require. Please contact your Porsche Centre for further information.

I want to be able to charge my Porsche at home. How can I find out if that is possible?

A home check should be carried out in conjunction with our recommended home installation partner, Andersen EV.

Your electrical infrastructure is checked and details regarding the installation of the equipment at your home can be agreed.

How can I ensure that my Porsche is not completely discharged?

Normally, your vehicle will not discharge completely, instead it will inform you that the charge is low in good time. Pay attention to the instructions in the PCM and the instrument cluster.

In addition, your Porsche can suggest a route to a nearby charging point if the vehicle charge is low.

In everyday situations there are many options available to you to charge your Porsche, e.g. during breaks at fuel and service stations or while out shopping.
