After the Coupé and Cabriolet, Porsche is now releasing a Gran Turismo Sport version of the 911 Targa

At Porsche, the designation GTS stands for more power, greater driving dynamics, and a more striking design. As the fifth model variant of the 911 with this version, the 911 Targa 4 GTS celebrated its world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Like the Coupé and Cabriolet, its 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine puts out 430 hp (316 kW). With Porsche double-clutch transmission (PDK), the Sport Targa accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and achieves a top speed of 187 mph. To put that power on the road in adequate fashion, the Sport Chrono package and the electronically adjustable Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) are included in the standard equipment. To top it all off, the body sits 0.4 inches lower. The distinguishing visual characteristics of the 911 Targa 4 GTS include a sporty front apron, dark-colored bi-xenon headlights, Sport Design exterior mirrors, and black 20-inch 911 Turbo S wheels. The interior is equally sporty, with features such as the middle section of the sports seats, steering wheel, and gear selector in grippy Alcantara leather. And—a special advantage of the Targa—it goes topless at the push of a button.
