A marvel in miniature – Porsche meets Playmobil
A marvel in miniature – Porsche meets Playmobil

Why not take a playful look at sports cars and offer great performance on a smaller scale? With the right perspective, driving a Porsche becomes child’s play.

The 911 Carrera S from Playmobil opens the door to a brand-new world—a world inhabited by around 2.8 billion figures. An impressive number, indeed. The Porsche Playmobil family’s first excursion takes it on a quest through the Stuttgart area. And their first stop? The old Solitude racetrack, of course.

If you’re planning a drive through Porsche history, make sure it’s true to scale: in our case, that should be around 1:20. When it comes to the technical details, the little 911 has no trouble keeping up with his big brothers in the Porsche Museum. Not only is it true to the classic contour, but its hardtop can be opened faster than on any other model in the range.

You’ll find Playmobil figures in more than a hundred countries—but there’s no place like home. The Porsche company’s hometown of Stuttgart is tailor-made for a mobile local history tour: the New Palace down in the valley; the Chinese Garden up above.

Sophisticated architecture and sophisticated automobiles make a perfect match. Or to put it another way: from Bauhaus to the Porsche Center. That is what makes our little tour so great: you can play with reality … and easily suspend it altogether.

A 911 Carrera S rolls into a Playmobil play set.

The allure of Porsche does not depend on size. Soon it will also cast its spell on role-playing with Playmobil figures. And the 911 Carrera S plays an exceptional role in this product line, which has been going strong for forty years: the Carrera S is the first licensed product based on reality. Porsche has been seamlessly integrated into Playmobil’s world of educational toys—and at the same time offers something different, something special. The play set with the red 911 also includes a Porsche Exclusive Lounge. As for the sports car itself, it features not only luminous headlights, taillights, and cockpit instruments, but also interchangeable wheel rims and parts available from the Exclusive range, such as front spoilers and rear wings in the Sport Design Package look. Oh yes, and the 911 has a removable roof. All of the parts can be safely stored in the Exclusive Lounge, which includes a work space. And to make sure that Porsche fans of all ages can start playing right away (previous Playmobil experience not required), the sports car and lounge come with their very own Porsche service technician. As well as—need you ask?—a Porsche driver. The set is already available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland, and will be available in other countries in early 2016.
