The Porsche 911 has achieved amazing things in its storied history. But climbing the world’s highest volcano? That’s a whole other level of performance. And that’s what “Edith: Porsche’s Volcano Ascent” is all about.
The 50-minute documentary by independent filmmakers TangentVector details the long, arduous journey of a small team attempting to drive to the top of Ojos del Salado in Chile in a specially modified Porsche 911 named Edith.Four years in the making, the film recently won Best Documentary Feature at the 2024 International Motor Film Awards. It made its debut at Monterey Car Week in August.As you’d expect, the ascent was far from straightforward. There were struggles along the way, and a number of failed attempts.
